Golf Courses - Pinehurst

Pinehurst Resort Courses 1-5:

Address: 1 Carolina Vista Dr, Pinehurst, NC 28374

The resort is through the traffic circle and across the street at 80 Carolina Vista Dr., a short distance. At the main clubhouse, you’ll find courses 1-5, the Cradle, the famed 18-hole putting course Thistle Dhu, a large driving range, and practice greens for chipping and putting. For food and beverage, on-site there is The Deuce overlooking the 18th hole of Course #2, and the 91st Hole, a grab-and-go style stop next to Thistle Dhu.

Pinehurst Resort Course 7:

Address: 14 Inverrary Rd, Pinehurst, NC 28374

Course 7 is located within a gated community and is southeast of the main clubhouse about a 5-minute drive away. It has a small clubhouse with a restaurant upstairs and a downstairs grab-and-go area adjacent to the putting green. The practice green for chipping is adjacent to the first tee box, and the driving range is about a 1-minute card right around the greens of the 8th and 9th holes.

Pinehurst Resort Course 9:

Address: 1 Royal Troon Dr, Pinehurst, NC 28374

Course 9 is located off Midland Rd, east of the main clubhouse, about a 5-minute drive away. They have a pro shop and a restaurant downstairs. There is a putting green adjacent the clubhouse and a driving range a short distance from the putting green around the pond. Course 9 is shut down for renovations until August 2026.

Pinehurst Resort Course 6:

Address: 97 Juniper Creek Blvd, Pinehurst, NC 28374

Course 6 is located within a neighborhood and is northeast of the main clubhouse about 4 miles. It has a small clubhouse with a restaurant for grab-and-go items, as well as putting and chipping greens, and a driving range.

Pinehurst Resort Course 8:

Address: 100 Centennial Blvd, Pinehurst, NC 28374

Course 8 is located off Murdocksville Rd, north of the main clubhouse, about a 5-minute drive away. They have a large pro shop and a restaurant, Pl8te, that serves unique, southern-inspired cuisines. There is a putting green adjacent the clubhouse and a driving range a short distance from the putting green across the street.

Pinehurst Resort Course 10:

Address: 1075 Sandmines Crossing, Aberdeen, NC 28315

Course 10 is located off Highway 5, south of the main clubhouse, about a 10-minute drive away. They have a large, new pro shop and a restaurant, Station 21, that serves unique, southwestern-inspired cuisines. There is a putting green adjacent to the clubhouse and a driving range a short distance from the putting green across the street. Course 11 will be built adjacent to #10 in the next few years, adding another course to the Sandmines.

Golf Courses - Southern Pines

MidPines Inn and Golf Club:

Address: 1010 Midland Rd, Southern Pines, NC 28387

MidPines is a classic 18-hole Donald Ross designed course. There is a clubhouse with a restaurant. A putting green is adjacent to the clubhouse, and a driving range a short cart ride down past the first tee box. A halfway house is located between the 9th and 10th holes. *The clubhouse is currently undergoing renovations as of JAN 2026*

Southern Pines Golf Club:

Southern Pines Golf Club is where GolfGrinders got started! A hidden gem in the area, SPGC boasts a fantastic 18-hole Donald Ross designed track. A driving range sits behind a clubhouse featuring a pro shop and a restaurant, with the large putting green in front of the clubhouse adjacent to the first tee box.

Longleaf Golf and Family Club:

Address: 10 N. Knoll Road, Southern Pines, NC 28387

Longleaf is the home of U.S. Kids Golf and offers friendly military discounts for greens fees. They have a clubhouse with an outside patio with full bar and a restaurant to order food from while over-watching the 9th green. The putting green is next to the clubhouse, with the driving range behind the first tee box and beside the 18th fairway. They also have a short par-3 course on property between the 13th and 16th fairways named Bottlebrush, perfect for all ages.

Talamore Golf Club:

LLAMAS! Famous for their pot bunkers reminiscent of the “Old Course,” the “New Course” is designed by Rees Jones and harbors a beautiful 18 holes that can challenge any player. The llamas are located between the 13th green and 14th tee box. Consistently rated in the top 100 golf courses in America, Talamore and its subsidiaries, Mid South Club and Legacy Links, are a GolfGrinder favorite, particularly in the winter months. A driving range is located beyond the putting and chipping greens, with overhead cover provided for inclement weather. Talamore boasts a large clubhouse complete with a restaurant (with a complimentary coffee bar), a pro shop, and a halfway house located by the driving range. Did we mention llamas?!

Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club:

A Donald Ross designed 18-hole course just across the street from MidPines, Pine Needles played host to the LPGA U.S. Women’s Open in 2022. It has a large clubhouse with a restaurant upstairs and a pro shop downstairs. It has a putting green adjacent to the clubhouse and right next to the driving range, which has covered mats for inclement weather.

Hyland Golf Club:

Address: 115 Fairway Avenue, Southern Pines, NC 28387

Hyland is located off of U.S. Highway 1 just north of downtown Southern Pines. They have a small restaurant and pro shop, as well as a driving range and putting green. It is known for having a beautiful stretch of 3 holes (4-6) where from the 5th tee box you can see a large portion of the course and a pond in the middle. Their prices are low for such a great course and this course is a favorite of GolfGrinders with their military discounts.

Mid South Golf Club:

Address: 610 Palmer Dr., Southern Pines, NC 28387

A semi-private club about a 5 minute drive from Talamore down Midland Rd., nestled in a residential community, Mid South is an Arnold Palmer designed course with breathtaking views and challenging holes. Water is prevalent around the course, with tee and approach shots over ponds throughout. Mid South has a large clubhouse similar to the design of Talamore, with a tiered driving range near the first tee box and a putting green next to the clubhouse.

Golf Courses - Surrounding Areas

Legacy Golf Links:

Address: 12615 U.S. Highway 15, Aberdeen, NC 28315

Originally crafted by Jack Nicklaus and dubbed “the Bear”, Legacy was recently purchased by Talamore and is now part of their resort collection. Legacy has plenty of water to challenge every golfer, and a new clubhouse finished in late 2025. They have a driving range and a putting green, the latter directly behind the first tee box.

Tobacco Road Golf Club:

Address: 442 Tobacco Road, Sanford, NC 27332

Tot Hill Farm is another Mike Strantz designed course with plenty of elevation and challenging shots. The area once was a tobacco farm turned sand quarry. Boasting more wasteland than Tot Hill Farm, risk versus reward comes into play with every shot. The clubhouse is rustic and expansive, with a back patio overlooking the 18th green. A driving range is near the cart barn, with massive putting greens located both by the driving range and near the first tee box. A must-try for every golfer is their famous spicy hot dog, complete with pimiento cheese!

Tot Hill Farm:

Address: 3185 Tot Hill Farm Rd, Asheboro, NC 27205-9543

Tot Hill Farm is a Mike Strantz design and both unique and challenging, yet playable for every golfer. The course is set in the midst of the North Carolina countryside and underwent a complete restoration recently. All of the greens were converted to Prizm zoysia grass, all cart paths were updated, over 1200 trees were removed, and except for two, all bunkers have new sand and drainage. The course was returned to the pristine shape of its opening in 2000. Mike Strantz says it is the best course he ever built (Tot Hill Farm website, 2023), and GolfGrinders routinely play there! It is a hidden gem about 45 minutes from Pinehurst, and has a small farmhouse-style clubhouse, chipping and putting greens, and a driving range.
